Les Ateliers De Karine: Rainbow Traveler's Notebook

 

Karine's new collection is called Rainbow and, as the name suggests, it is an explosion of cheerful colors that invite you to create! Not only the papers, but also stamps and dies are fabulous! In particular, I fell in love with the flowers, that you probably have already seen around. As a first project with Rainbow collection, I made a couple of pages for my Traveler's Notebook starting from this flower.

La nuova collezione di Karine si chiama Rainbow - tradotto in italiano Arcobaleno - e, come dice il nome, é un'esplosione di colori allegri che invogliano a creare! Non solo le carte, ma anche i timbri e le fustelle sono favolosi! In particolare, mi sono innamorata del set di fiori, che avrete sicuramente già notato in giro. Come primo progetto con la collezione Rainbow, ho voluto realizzate un paio di pagine per il mio Traveler's Notebook partendo proprio da questo fiore.

If you're new here, I introduce myself. My name is Angela Tombari, aka NG and this is my blog I Need Confetti, where I share my passion for memory keeping, card making and paper crafts in general. This is my project for Les Ateliers de Karine design team, French scrapbooking brand I cooperate with as project designer.

Se sei nuovo qui, mi presento. Io sono Angela Tombari e questo è il mio blog I Need Confetti, dove condivido la mia passione per il memory keeping -conservazione dei ricordi- e per il paper craft -artigianato della carta-. Questa è il progetto che ho realizzato per il design team di Les Ateliers de Karine, brand francese di scrapbooking, di cui faccio parte come creativa.

The flower I'm talking about is the die set called Fleurs and it consists of two flowers, one larger than the other. Both of them have their own contour metal die which allows you to play building the flower.

Il fiore di cui parlo fa parte del set di fustelle Fleurs, composto da due fiori uno grande ed uno piccolo. Ciascuno ha il suo contorno che permette di giocare di fantasia nella costruzione del fiore. 

My flower, for example, is made with both the die cuts, overlapped one on top of the other, plus an additional one made of mustard fabric with polka dots. I also added some pistils using some cotton thread and a vellum sprig from the collection.

Il mio fiore ad esempio, è realizzato con entrambi i ritagli, sovrapposti uno sull'altro ed un ulteriore fiore piccolo di stoffa giallo senape a pois. Ho aggiunto anche dei pistilli di filo di cotone ed un rametto in vellum, sempre facente parte della collezione.

The flower is glued to the edge of the page which opens to reveal another flower. The flower underneath is made with the stencil technique, where the stencil is the negative of the card stock I used to die ut the flowers.

Il fiore è incollato sul bordo della pagina che, aprendosi, rivela un altro fiore. Quest'ultimo è realizzato con la tecnica dello stencil, dove lo stencil è il negativo del cartoncino con cui ho ritagliato i fiori.

To stay consistent with the floral theme, I also cut the photo into a flower shape!

Per rimanere coerenti con il tema floreale, ho ritagliato anche la foto a forma di fiore!

The photo is glued on the back of the flower and partially on the page. 

One thing I'd like to mention is the page itself. It has a patterned I created myself using the stamp Textes Rainbow. Me, the most messy person on the earth, I managed to stay aligned, repeating the stamp on the front and back of the page.

La foto è incollata sul retro del fiore e parzialmente sulla pagina.

Una cosa che vorrei menzionare è la pagina stessa. Il disegno è un motivo che ho creato io stessa usando il timbro Textes Rainbow. Io, la persona più disordinata della terra, sono riuscita a rimanere allineata, ripetendo il timbro sul fronte e sul retro della pagina.

Now, the second page. The second page has a flap too. On the flap edge I stitched the colorful label of the collection.

Ora, la seconda pagina. Anche la seconda pagina ha un'aletta che si apre. Sul bordo della aletta ho cucito le etichette colorate della collezione.

I hid the stitching under a written strip of paper. On the other part of the page I created a pocket with the patterned vellum.

Ho nascosto la cucitura sotto un bordino scritto. Sull'alta parte di pagina ho reato una tasca con il vellum stampato.

Inside the stitched pocket I placed a card with the photo.

All'interno della taschina cucita,  ho sistemato una card con la foto.

The card is made with one of the patterned paper from the collection, as well as the stickers and the enamel dots I used to embellish it.

La card è realizzata con una delle carte fantasia della collezione, così come gli stickers e le enamel dots che ho utilizzato per decorarla.

On the backside of the page I wrote journaling, but I'll show you next time, because it is part of another project ;-P

Sul retro della pagina ho scritto il journaling, ma te lo mostrerò in seguito, perché fa parte di un altro progetto ;-P
