A Sweet & Spooky Interactive Halloween Card with Hero Arts
Who says Halloween has to be orange, black and scary?
Definitely not me!
Today I’m sharing a couple of colorful, playful Halloween cards featuring the Hero Arts Big Mouth Jack-o-Lantern Die Set (DF313).
And yes, my pumpkin is PINK.
Because if I have the chance to turn a Jack-o’-lantern into a bright pink, shaker-filled little cute monster… you know I’m going to take it!
The star of this project is the Hero Arts Big Mouth Jack-o-Lantern Die Set (DF313), and what makes it especially fun is its interactive design.
At first glance, you see a cute little pumpkin face.
That big mouth comes to life!
I absolutely love interactive dies like this because they turn a handmade card into something you want to pick up, touch and play with. And for Halloween, a little surprise feels especially appropriate, don’t you think?
Instead of going with a traditional Halloween palette, I decided to make my main pumpkin a delicious bright pink.
I paired it with different shades of green for the leaves and those wonderfully curly pumpkin vines. The contrast makes the whole design feel fresh, modern and just a little unexpected.
And because one pumpkin is never enough, I also created an orange version in the background.
Same die.
Completely different personality.
There is something particularly satisfying about making a card that doesn’t reveal everything immediately.
You see the pumpkin.
You notice the little tab.
You pull it.
And suddenly the card reveal the sentiment!
And honestly?
I may have pulled that little tab far too many times while making these. 😂
Love, Angela
