Christmas Tree Scrapbook Layout with Pinkfresh Studio Festive Fun

Circles, dimension and lots of tiny embellishments for a playful Christmas tree!

Hello crafty friends, and welcome back to my blog! Today I’m sharing a new Christmas tree scrapbook layout created with the gorgeous Festive Fun collection by Pinkfresh Studio. Christmas trees are one of my absolute favorite shapes to play with, and somehow one always sneaks into my Christmas layouts! This time I wanted to create something clean, dimensional and full of tiny festive details… basically, all the things I love!

Ciao creative e bentornate sul mio blog! Oggi vi mostro un nuovo layout a forma di albero di Natale realizzato con la bellissima collezione Festive Fun di Pinkfresh Studio. Gli alberi di Natale sono in assoluto una delle forme che amo di più utilizzare e, in un modo o nell’altro, riescono sempre a intrufolarsi nei miei layout natalizi! Questa volta volevo creare qualcosa di pulito, tridimensionale e pieno di piccoli dettagli festosi… praticamente, tutto ciò che amo! 

I started with one of the simplest shapes ever: circles! Using my punches, I cut lots of white cardstock circles in three different sizes and arranged them close together, gradually building the triangular shape of a Christmas tree. I love how such a simple geometric element can turn into something completely different when repeated. Keeping the circles white also gave me the perfect neutral canvas for all those colorful Festive Fun goodies.

Sono partita da una delle forme più semplici in assoluto: i cerchi! Con i miei punch ho ritagliato tanti cerchi di cartoncino bianco in tre diverse misure e li ho accostati tra loro, costruendo gradualmente la forma triangolare dell’albero di Natale. Adoro quando un elemento geometrico così semplice, una volta ripetuto, riesce a trasformarsi in qualcosa di completamente diverso. Lasciare i cerchi bianchi mi ha inoltre regalato la base neutra perfetta per far risaltare tutti i coloratissimi abbellimenti di Festive Fun.

And of course, I couldn’t leave those circles flat! I adhered them with foam tape, overlapping some of them slightly to create different levels. That little bit of dimension makes such a difference: the circles cast tiny shadows onto the background and give the Christmas tree depth, movement and texture. If you know my work, you know that dimension and texture are definitely my happy place!

E naturalmente non potevo lasciare quei cerchi piatti! Li ho incollati con foam tape, sovrapponendone leggermente alcuni per creare diversi livelli. Quel piccolo spessore fa davvero una grande differenza: i cerchi proiettano leggere ombre sul fondo e regalano all’albero profondità, movimento e texture. Se conoscete i miei lavori, sapete già che tridimensionalità e texture sono decisamente il mio pane creativo!

Then came the REALLY fun part: decorating the tree! I treated each circle almost like a tiny Christmas ornament and played with as many Festive Fun embellishments as I could find — stickers, puffy stickers, enamel dots, wood veneers and all those irresistible little pieces. I tucked my circular photo right into the tree, added the string of Christmas lights across the middle and finished everything with that beautiful wood veneer star on top and a big JOY at the bottom. More is more at Christmas, right? 

Poi è arrivata la parte DAVVERO divertente: decorare l’albero! Ho trattato ogni cerchio quasi come se fosse una piccola pallina di Natale e mi sono divertita a utilizzare quanti più abbellimenti di Festive Fun possibile: stickers, puffy stickers, enamel dots, wood veneers e tutti quei piccoli elementi a cui è impossibile resistere. Ho inserito la mia foto circolare direttamente nell’albero, aggiunto il filo di lucine natalizie al centro e completato tutto con la bellissima stella in wood veneer sulla punta e il grande JOY alla base. A Natale le decorazioni non sono mai troppe, giusto?
