Pinkfresh Studio Legendary | Welcome layout with layering & stitching

Ogni gennaio sul mio feed c’è una piccola tradizione: il layout di benvenuto al nuovo anno✨  È il mio modo di salutare ciò che è stato e aprire lo spazio al nuovo, con un progetto pieno di buone vibrazioni.

Per questa pagina 12x12 ho scelto Pinkfresh Studio – collezione Legendary e ho usato due tecniche che mi rappresentano tantissimo: layering (stratificazioni, etichette e dettagli) e ricamo su carta per aggiungere texture e movimento.

Ho creato un cut file “2026” con Silhouette Studio per ritagliare i numeri e usarli come elemento protagonista del layout. È un file davvero semplice da realizzare anche da zero: basta usare l’opzione Testo, scegliere un font che ti piace, digitare “2026” e poi trasformarlo in tracciato per il taglio.

Se non hai un plotter di taglio, nessun problema: puoi ritagliare 2026 anche a mano con cutter o forbici. Ti assicuro che, una volta ricamato il profilo, eventuali piccole “imperfezioni” del taglio manuale non si noteranno… anzi, daranno ancora più carattere al progetto!

Every January on my feed I keep a little tradition: a New Year welcome layout✨ It’s my way to close the door on the past and make room for new beginnings, with a page full of good vibes.
For this 12x12 layout I used Pinkfresh Studio – Legendary collection, featuring the two techniques I love the most: layering (stacked pieces, labels, and details) plus a touch of paper stitching to add texture and movement.

I created a simple “2026” cut file in Silhouette Studio to cut the numbers and use them as the main element on this layout. It’s very easy to recreate from scratch: just use the Text tool, choose a font you love, type “2026”, and convert it to cut lines.

No cutting machine? No worries! You can still cut the 2026 by hand using a craft knife or scissors. Once you stitch around the edges, any tiny imperfections won’t show… and they’ll actually add extra handmade charm!

Materiali / Supplies

• Pinkfresh Studio – Legendary (6 inches patterned papers, ephemera/die-cuts, stickers, ecc.)

• Cardstock bianco 12x12” (base)

• Foto + (facoltativo) mattatura su cardstock

• Filo da ricamo + ago (cotone mouliné o simile)

• Forbici, colla liquida, biadesivo

• Foam tape (opzionale)

• Penna nera per journaling (o etichetta stampata)

Come ho realizzato il layout 12x12 / Step-by-step

1) Base e foto / Base + photo

Dopo aver tagliato la scritta 2026, ho scelto tre carte 6x8” della collezione Legendary, nei toni del giallo/arancione, e le ho incollate sul retro per creare un effetto “riempimento” colorato. Dietro al numero 0, invece, ho messo cartoncino bianco per dare più luce e far risaltare il ricamo.

After cutting the 2026 title, I picked three 6x8” papers from the Legendary collection in warm yellow/orange tones and adhered them to the back to create a colorful fill. Behind the 0, I used white cardstock instead, to add brightness and make the stitching stand out even more.

2) Layering (stratificazioni) / Layering

Ho costruito il cluster principale alternando:

• 1–2 pezzi grandi (base)

• 2–4 elementi medi (etichette e die-cuts)

• micro dettagli (paroline, piccole forme)
  Il segreto è mixare forme, altezze e direzioni per dare ritmo.

I built my main cluster by mixing:
- 1–2 larger pieces (base)
- 2–4 medium elements (labels and die-cuts)
- tiny details (small words, mini shapes)
The key is combining shapes, heights and directions to create visual rhythm.

3) Ricamo su carta / Paper stitching

Il ricamo è una delle tecniche che amo di più perché aggiunge calore e movimento senza appesantire. Puoi seguire linee già stampate oppure creare piccoli accenti (punti, crocette, linee) per guidare lo sguardo.

Stitching is one of my favorite techniques because it adds warmth and movement without making the page feel heavy. You can follow printed lines or add small accents (dots, crosses, lines) to guide the eye.

Consiglio: fora prima la carta con un punteruolo (o ago) per punti più regolari.
Tip: pre-pierce the holes first for cleaner, more even stitches.

4) Bilanciamento / Balance

Dopo il cluster principale, ho aggiunto 1–2 micro cluster di supporto per bilanciare colori e “peso” visivo. Guardare il layout da lontano aiuta tantissimo.

After the main cluster, I added 1–2 small supporting clusters to balance color and visual weight. Stepping back and looking from a distance really helps.

5) Titolo e journaling / Title + journaling

Per un progetto di inizio anno funziona benissimo un titolo breve e 1–2 righe di journaling con l’intenzione per i mesi che arrivano.
Io volevo che questa pagina trasmettesse speranza e buona energia… e la frase che mi ha accompagnato è: “Sono solo i sogni a dare forma al mondo.” ✨

For a New Year project, a short title and 1–2 lines of journaling are perfect to capture your intention for the months ahead.
I wanted this page to radiate hope and good energy… and the words that inspired me were: “Only dreams can shape the world.” ✨

Tip veloci per un layering ordinato / Quick tips for neat layering

• Parti da 3 strati e aggiungi solo se serve.

• Ripeti 2–3 colori in punti diversi per creare armonia.

• Foam solo su pochi elementi: il resto piatto mantiene pulizia.

• Il ricamo aggiunge texture senza bisogno di mille decorazioni.

Start with 3 layers and add more only if needed.
Repeat 2–3 colors around the page to keep things cohesive.
Use foam on just a few elements; keep the rest flat for a clean look.
Stitching adds texture without needing lots of embellishments.
