Spellbinders | Playing with shapes and Essential Arch Etched Dies

I’m sharing a new card, featuring Essential Arch Etched Dies from Glimmer Greetings collection by Spellbinder. The Essential Arch consists of a nested set of arches dies, 16 in total. It is meant to be used for creating arch shapes of various sizes and tiny or larger arch frames. Today, I would like to show you my creative take on it.

Condivido una nuova card, realizzata con la fustella Essential Arch Etched Dies della collezione Glimmer Greetings di Spellbinder. La fustella è composta da un insieme nidificato di stampi ad arco. In tutto sono 16 fustelle da utilizzare per creare forme ad arco di varie dimensioni e cornici ad arco minuscole o più grandi. Oggi vorrei mostrarvi la mia interpretazione creativa.

I wanted to create something geometric. I browsed on Pinterest, looking for some inspirations and I found many ideas. One in particular caught my attention, a brand identity leaflet with this appealing color palette.

So, I die cut some arches in different sizes. I cut some arches, making them shorter. Some arches became half circles, some others became squares. Then, I started playing with the shapes and their placement and suddenly it appeared this! A cute smiley face that looks like it winks! Can you see it?

Volevo creare qualcosa di geometrico. Ho navigato su Pinterest, alla ricerca di alcune ispirazioni e ho trovato molte idee. Una in particolare ha attirato la mia attenzione, un volantino di brand identity con questa tavolozza di colori accattivante.

Così, ho fustellato un po’ di archi in diverse dimensioni. Ho accorciato la lunghezza di alcuni archi. Alcuni archi sono diventati semicerchi, altri sono diventati quadrati. Poi, ho iniziato a giocare con le forme e il loro posizionamento e improvvisamente è apparso questo! Un simpatico faccino sorridente che sembra strizzi l’occhio! Riesci a vederlo?

I die cut each shape 5 times, to give some dimension and make the face pop. I adhered the shapes to a vanilla card-stock, slightly smaller than an A2 card size. Actually, before gluing down the shapes, I stamped the sentiment. This way the height wouldn’t interfere with the stamp of the sentiment.

The sentiment I chose is Happy Birthday. This is from a coming stamp set by Spellbinders, so consider it an exclusive sneak peek ;-P

Ho fustellato ogni sagoma 5 volte, per dare una certa dimensione e far risaltare il viso. Ho incollato le sagome ad un cartoncino color vaniglia, leggermente più piccolo di un formato A2. In realtà, prima di incollare le forme, ho timbrato il sentimento. In questo modo l'altezza non avrebbe interferito con la timbrata.

Il sentiment che ho scelto è Buon Compleanno. Questo è tratto da un timbro di Spellbinders in arrivo prossimamente, quindi consideralo un'anteprima esclusiva ;-P
