For today’s Blog Hop, I created two cheerful and unique Christmas cards with some new products from July 2022 Holiday Collections. Now follow me and let’s dive into the explanation on how I made them!

Angela Tombari Spellbinders Blog Hop 03

Both the cards are colorful and have an unusual shape, rounded at the bottom. I created them using the Essential Arches Etched Dies from Glimmer Greetings Collection and white card-stock. I die cut the card panel and the card base of the same rounded shape. Making the card base is quite simple. It is sufficient to cut a strip of card-stock of the desired size, fold it in half, place the straight side of the arch die near the fold but not on it, so it doesn’t cut. Last, run it trough the die cutting machine and it’s done.

Once I cut the arch panel, I created the card composition with colorful swirls and Christmas balls using More Holiday Decorations die set from the Celebrate The Season collection. Christmas balls in particular, consist of two parts, one for the front and one for the back. For the back I used silver card-stock. I then added the Merry Christmas sentiment, made with the Merry Glimmer Sentiments Hot Foil Plate & Die set and a cute bow from the Blooming Ornaments Hot Foil Plate & Die set.

My second card idea is a little bit more, let’s say intricate. It still has the same rounded shape at the bottom, made with Essential Arches Etched Die set and is still decorated with More Holiday Decorations Die set. In addition, this time I created a window on the front of the card, using a second Arch die, one size smaller than the Arch use for the base.

Before gluing wires and Christmas lights, I glimmer foiled the sentiment directly on the base of the card. From the Merry Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die set, I chose the Christmas Wishes sentiment. I didn't use dies this time, just the plates. There are several words in this set and they can be combined to create many different sentiments. While in the first card I used silver Glimmer Hot Foil, here I used gold. Gold Glimmer Hot Foil for the sentiment and gold card-stock for the metal part of the bulbs.

Last step was to arrange wires and Christmas lights on top of the card window and glued them down. For a clean and fun look, I glued the Christmas lights also on the reverse side, i.e. on the back of the card window. Below is what it looks like.

Qui sotto ecco come appare.
