È arrivato il Xmas in July! SÌÌ !!! Sono molto contenta di potervi mostrarvi alcune simpatiche fustelle della nuova collezione di Spellbinders chiamata Stitchmas Christmas. Se sei come me e ti piace il ricamo, te ne innamorerai sicuramente!

All the cards that I show you today are made with Stitched Joy die set. It consists of the word Joy, in a beautiful uppercase font and a base of flowers and leaves outlined by many small holes designed for embroidery.

The perforated shape assists the stitching because it is easy to understand where to pass needle and thread. Furthermore, having the holes ready, perfectly aligned and equidistant, avoids the risk of damaging the paper when punching, so that the result is a beautiful and well done embroidery.

That said, I understand that not everyone likes to embroider, so I'd like to show you examples of using the Stitched Joy die with and without embroidery.

Let's start with the simplest: card Stitched Joy Without Stitching!

Tutti i biglietti che oggi ti mostro, sono realizzati con il set di fustelle Stitched Joy. Esso consiste nella parola Joy - gioia, in un bellissimo font maiuscolo e di una base di fiori e foglie delineata da tanti piccoli fori pensati per il ricamo.

La sagoma così perforata assiste il ricamo perché è facilmente intuibile dove far passare ago e filo. Inoltre, avere i fori già pronti, perfettamente equidistanti, evita di rischiare di rovinare la carta quando perforiamo, con il risultato che il ricamo risulta bello e ben fatto.

Detto questo, capisco che non a tutti piaccia ricamare, quindi vorrei mostrarti degli esempi di utilizzo della fustella Stitched Joy con e senza ricamo. 

Cominciamo dal più semplice: card Stitched Joy Senza Ricamo!

In this card, I simply payed with layers. There is no embroidery, here. The only thread I used was the silver one, wrapped around the front panel of the card. I die cut the base from three different colors of card stock, pink, olive green and craft. I then glued the three die cuts to each other, keeping them offset by a few millimeters, so that is visible a hint of the various colors.

Same thing with the word Joy. I die cut the letters from white and silver glitter card stock, I overlapped them slightly offset and glued them down, in the center of the base. Simple, isn't it?

Last, I added the Merry Bright sentiment in silver foil on pink card stock. These cute foil dies are always part of the Spellbinders Christmas release and are called Merry Glimmer Sentiments.

In questo biglietto ho usato un semplice gioco di sovrapposizioni. Qui non c'è ricamo. L'unico filo che ho usato è quello argento, arrotolato attorno al pannello frontale del biglietto. Ho fustellato la base in tre colori diversi, in rosa, verde oliva e craft. Ho poi incollato le tre fustellate una all'altra, tenendole sfalsate di qualche millimetro, in modo che si vedesse un accenno dei vari colori.

Ho fatto la stessa cosa con la parola Joy. Ho ritagliato la scritta da del cartoncino bianco e da un cartoncino glitter argento e ho incollato le lettere sfalsandole, al centro della base. Semplice, no?

In ultimo ho aggiunto il sentiment Merry Bright in foil argento su cartoncino rosa. Queste deliziose fustelline per il foil fanno sempre parte della release di Spellbinders e si chiamano Merry Glimmer Sentiments. 

Now let's take a step further, let's move on to Soft Embroidery.

For those who are new to needle and thread or for those who know how to embroider but prefer a quick stitching, here is another idea.

The Stitched Joy die set, in addition to the word Joy and the its base, has also other dies for creating single berries, leaves and flowers. In this card I have embroidered some die cuts of single leaves and flowers and I have glued them down to the card, on the sides of the word Joy.

Ora facciamo un passo in più, passiamo ad un ricamo soft.

Per coloro che sono alle prime armi con ago e filo o per coloro che sanno ricamare, ma preferiscono un ricamo veloce, ecco un'altra idea.

Il set Stitched Joy, oltre alla parola Joy e alla sua base, ha anche altre fustelle per realizzare bacche, foglie e fiori singoli. In quest biglietto ho ricamato alcune fustellate singole di foglie e di fiori e li ho incollati alla card, ai lati della parola Joy.

As you can see, I created the card without using the base die. The word Joy is placed directly onto the card and embellished with the embroidered flowers and leaves. Also in this case the result is very elegant, don't you think? Last, I added some light pink berries, glued around the composition.

Come vedi, ho composto il biglietto senza usare la fustella della base. La parola Joy è incollata direttamente al biglietto e impreziosita dal ricamo di fiori e foglie. Anche in questo caso il risultato è molto raffinato, non credi? In ultimo, ho aggiunto qualche bacca rosa, che ho incollato attorno alla composizione.

Ora passiamo al pezzo da 90 con un tripudio di ricamo.

Qui la base della fustella Stitched Joy è tutta ricamata. Ho usato diversi tipi di ricamo e per ciascuno, un diverso colore. I filati che ho usato sono tutti Mouliné della marca DMC.

The trio of leaves is embroidered in a radial stitch, with very light blue thread. In particular, I used DMC number #928. The single leaves, or twigs, are embroidered instead, reproducing the vein of the leaves.

The larger flowers are embroidered in white, using woven spider's wheel stitch, also known as woven rose stitch. The smaller flowers, are embroidered with pink #224 DMC using French knot stitch.

Il trio di foglie è ricamato a raggiera, con del filato azzurro chiarissimo. In particolare ho usato il numero #928 della DMC. Le foglie singole, o rametti, li ho ricamati invece, riproducendo la nervatura delle foglie.

I fiori più grandi sono ricamati con filato bianco a punto ragnatela intrecciata o rosa intrecciata. I fiorellini più piccoli invece, sono ricamati con il rosa #224 DMC a punto nodo francese.  

The stitching composition is made on the Stitched Joy base die cut in green card stock. To create more dimension, I die cut other two bases in darker green card stocks and glued the three pieces together. I applied glue only in the center of the base. It would have been impossible to stitch the whole die cut piece because of the thickness of the backwards side of the stitching. By doing so, a beautiful nest effect was created that accommodates the Joy word sat in the center.

La composizione delle cuciture è realizzata sulla base fustellata Stitched Joy in cartoncino verde. Per creare più dimensione, ho fustellato altre due basi in cartoncini verdi più scuri e ho incollato i tre pezzi della base uno all'altro. Ho applicato la colla solo al centro della base, perché sarebbe stato impossibile cucire l'intero pezzo fustellato a causa dello spessore del rovescio della cucitura. Così facendo si è creato  un bellissimo effetto a nido che avvolge la scritta Joy ospitata al centro.

Just a brief mention about card sizes. The three cards was created on a craft base of card stock that measures 3.5 x 5.5 inches and they all have a decorative thread wrapped around. Ones the front cards were finished, I glued them down on a white card base of 7 x 5,5 inches folded in two. Voilà!

Solo una breve menzione sulle dimensioni dei biglietti. Le tre cards sono state create su una base di cartoncino color craft che misura 3,5 x 5,5 pollici e tutte e tre hanno un filo decorativo avvolto attorno. Una volta che la parte anteriore dei biglietti era finito, l'ho incollata su una base di cartoncino bianco di 7 x 5,5 pollici piegata in due. Voilà!
