Stitched Monogram Tags - Tag Monogramma | Spellbinders

Today, I am partner of Spellbinders new dies release called 'Stitched Alphabet' and I am sharing an easy example of how to use them to create beautiful Monogram Tags.

I am a big fan of stitching in my paper projects, cards, albums and layouts. Stitching adds texture and interest and it is possible to achieve different results, simply varying the type of thread or the type of stitch used. My today project is showing the simplest way to use the letters from Stitched Alphabet dies set and obtain tags with an elegant and fresh style to include to a present or as an embellishment of a scrapbooking project.

Oggi sono partner nel lancio della nuova release di fustelle di Spellbinders chiamata 'Stitched Alphabet' - alfabeto cucito- e condivido un semplice esempio di come usarle per creare deliziose Tag Monogramma.

Sono una grande fan delle cuciture nei miei progetti di carta, biglietti, album e layout. La cucitura aggiunge consistenza e interesse ed è possibile ottenere risultati diversi semplicemente variando il tipo di filo o il tipo di ricamo utilizzato. Il mio progetto di oggi mostra il modo più semplice per usare le lettere del set Stitched Alphabet e ottenere tag eleganti e fresche da includere in un pacchetto regalo o come decorazione di un progetto scrap.

First tag is showing letter 'a' like Angela ;)

Each letter measures from 1 to 1,5 inches wide and from 1,5 to 2 inches tall. Letter 'l' for example is 1 x 2 inches, while letter 'a' is 1,5 x 1,5 inches. Stitched Alphabet dies set includes also a contour die that can be used underneath and that enlarges the letter of about 2/8 inches. That said, I decided to cut the tags 2,5 x 4 inches, so to have a good proportion of space to accomodate the letter.

I cut each letter 5 times from white card stock and one from colored card stock. I glued each piece on each other to obtain a single pretty thick letter. Then, I stitched using white cotton thread and a needle.

Ogni lettera misura da 1 a 1,5 pollici di larghezza e da 1,5 a 2 pollici di altezza. La lettera 'l' per esempio è 1 x 2 pollici, mentre la lettera 'a' è 1,5 x 1,5 pollici. Il set di fustelle Stitched Alphabet include anche una matrice di contorno che può essere utilizzata al di sotto e che ingrandisce la lettera di circa 2/8 pollici. Detto questo, ho deciso di tagliare le tag 2,5 x 4 pollici, in modo da avere una buona proporzione di spazio per ospitare la lettera.

Ho tagliato ogni lettera 5 volte dal cartoncino bianco e una dal cartoncino colorato. Ho incollato ogni pezzo uno sull'altro per ottenere una singola lettera bella spessa. Poi, ho cucito usando un filo di cotone bianco e un ago.

Second tag is with letter 'o' like Ornella.

Stitching the letters is very easy because the die cut the holes that guide the embroidery. 

I started sewing from the centre hole, entering from below and returning from above into one of the outer holes. Once again, I entered the centre hole from below and returned from above into the outer hole next to the previous one. I continued this way till I filled in all the holes.

Once I finished the embroidery, I die-cut the base of the letter from vellum. I glued the base to the letter and then to the tag.

La seconda tag è con la lettera 'o' di Ornella.

Cucire le lettere è molto facile perché la fustella taglia i fori che guidano il ricamo.

Ho iniziato a cucire dal foro centrale, entrando da sotto e rientrando dall’alto in uno dei fori esterni. Ancora una volta, sono entrata nel foro centrale da sotto ed sono rientrata dall’alto nel buco esterno accanto al precedente. Ho continuato così fino a riempire tutti i buchi.

Terminato il ricamo, ho fustellato la base della lettera in vellum. Ho incollato la base alla lettera e il tutto alla tag, precedentemente decorata con striscioline di cartoncino colorato.

Third tag is featuring letter 'i' like Ilaria. I've always had a soft spot on this letter, because of the fun dot it carries above. My teacher used to say that it was its hat :)

Along with the die set, Stitched Alphabet also includes stamps that I used to create the tag sentiment. The stamp contains a myriad of fun adjectives that can be perfectly used for journaling scrap pages. 

I ended up the tag with a few sequins, a piece of ribbon and voilà!

La terza tag contiene la lettera "i" come Ilaria. Ho sempre avuto un debole questa letterina, per via del simpatico puntino che porta sopra. La mia maestra diceva che era il suo cappellino :)

Assieme alle fustelle, Stitched Alphabet include  anche timbri che ho usato per comporre il sentiment della tag. Il set contiene una miriade di simpatici aggettivi che sono perfetti anche da usare per il journaling di pagine scrap.

Ho terminato la tag con qualche paillette, un bel fiocco e voilà!
